Picking

Picking is carried out 6 days a week. Muchea Gold have a large number of pickers. This ensures that orders can be filled promptly and to a high standard. The flowers are picked and organized into bunches in the field, and collected throughout the day for transportation to the processing shed. This is done regularly and in a timely manner so the flowers are not put under stress.

Once the flowers arrive from the paddocks they are placed in water. This rehydrates the flowers and prepares them for the flight ahead. After rehydration the flowers are dipped in insecticide and fungicide before going through the drying tunnel on a conveyer belt as it is important for the flowers to be dry when packed.
